Studio M R is an established, award-winning architectural practice with studios in Kentish Town, London, and Bruton, Somerset. The practice works primarily on residential architecture, including new-build houses, extensions and the refurbishment of existing and historic buildings, alongside selected commercial and hospitality projects.

Our work is developed in close collaboration with our clients and responds to the particular requirements of each brief, its context and site. We place particular importance on understanding how our clients want to live and use their homes, considering space, movement, natural light, materials and the relationship between the building and its surroundings.

Studio M R manages the full project lifecycle, from the initial brief and early design stages through planning, technical design and construction to completion. Our continued involvement allows us to work closely with clients, consultants and contractors throughout, maintaining the design intent and attention to materials and detailing as the project develops.

The practice has extensive experience working across London, particularly in the historic neighbourhoods of North West and Central London, including Hampstead, Belsize Park, St John’s Wood, Camden and Westminster, as well as in Somerset and Dorset. Current commissions include houses and apartments in London, country homes and boutique hotels in Somerset, as well as residential projects across the South West, with sustainability and environmental performance considered throughout our work.
