Bold & Bright

This contemporary, newly-built, five-bedroom house in Hampstead, comprising nearly 9,000 square feet arranged over five floors, was designed by Studio M R in collaboration with Clifton Interiors for a North-London property developer.

The hub of the home focuses on the lower-ground floor which contains the kitchen, dining and family living spaces. This level connects spatially with the ground floor via two double-height spaces, front and rear, each of which benefits from six-meter-high, double-height glazing and direct access to the front and rear courtyard gardens. Consequently, the lower-ground floor is filled with dual-aspect natural light.

Large walk-on roof lights in each courtyard bring further natural light into the thirteen-meter swimming pool and the gymnasium, which are located in the basement, along with a spa and a cinema.

The kitchen, designed in conjunction with Roundhouse Kitchens, displays a palette of metal, lacquer and wood that compliment the interior. It sits on the lower-ground floor which benefits from huge sliding doors opening up onto a courtyard garden, allowing it to become one of the many light-filled areas in this property.
